Greece 2019

Greece is a force to be reckoned with. Starting off my senior abroad trip we flew into and stayed in Athens where we saw the Parthenon, the original Olympic stadium and even had some interesting encounters with local gypsies. Athens is a truly diverse and busy community that is rich in history and culture. After Athens we hit the road towards the west coast of Greece, where we experienced smaller towns. My personal favorite was Ionnina, Greece, a lake town with vibrantly painted houses and exceptional food. From there we traveled to the Delphi, where the famous Oracle of Delphi is found. Seeing hundreds and thousand year old temple which held the answers to all of life’s problems for the ancient Greeks was amazing. A few take aways from Greece is to immerse yourself in the culture and try your best to understand it and try every and any type of food. Moussaka is my personal favorite.
